So, here we are in second week. Everything goes, like a monday. Sonia and Gilles arrive from Paris. We listen to the tapes. We plan everything for the week to see what songs we must work on so that the string quartet work on a safe basis. We installed an old Juno synthesizer to find new sounds and arrangements. We working on "De nouveau" takes. We'll also have to rerecord a bass on "Mes morts". Usual stuff then.        Seb

A day for piano on "Mes morts". It wasn't due to last six hours but what but it's a hard track, not really executed in the classical way. A latino like piano arrangement played by an irish influenced violonist demands time to adapt : too violent, too sweet, not present enough ; Christine, the sound engineer is also genius to find stimulating adjectives. On his side, Gauthier rerecords easily the bass on "Mes morts".       Gilles

We're together for the first time. Seb arrived this morning in the middle of the guitar takes for "Tchin-tchin", the Fender amp on 10. Everyone come alongs to hear what it all sounds like. Meanwhile, we find ways to kill time in this place : the kitchen with the coffee machine, the tv ; the lounge where to read or sleep. Another thing to do is to walk round the area.
Ah yes, it snowed in the afternoon.

It's been a hard day. We've spent too much time on a guitar for "Tchin-tchin" : the sound's really hard to find and Nico's tough on putting it all together. Finally, Gilles and Seb found time to sit on the piano for a joint piano session on "Arnaud et Cécile". But the afternoon seems endless. Gauthier and Seb discover the refinements of ice-driving on Eurosport, the sport chanel on the cable, while Christian's trying to record an overdrive guitar on "Independence Park" : heavy problems with vibration in the amp. We change for another one. New problem. We change cables and guitar but it still doesn't work. We postpone this but we need to be careful : the planning's not strechable and we'll soon have two bloked days for our invited musicians (strings and wind). The end of the day is rather upsetting : Nico is back on the piano for "Ton mauvais compagnon" and Christian and Seb insist on Nico playing the whole song and not just parts of it. Discussion and eventually he's okay to record this song. Then we head to the pizzeria with Fred, our boss from Le Village vert label who's come over to see us.

Inside the studio, pined on a wall, there's a paper leaf. It is for us to write down anything, and maybe find a title for this LP. It looks serious but actually, it has turned into something insane. We write anything, what comes to our minds, mostly on sex and this won't make a title. That's what we occupy time with. Fred, our label manager, has come to listen a few songs, or what already exists of them. Accurate ears and strong opinions. It's nice to have an outside opinion. It's another busy day we end at the hotel, around a meal Fred prepared. We hesitate in finishing the night in Le Saint-Plon, the nearest bar where we often come across Tanguy who lives above and that we meet everyday in the bakery where the band gathers before going to the studio. Finally, we'll go to bed.

Superflu's out of work today. The band's listening to the string quartet that has come to record. Henri (who recorded for bands such as Autour de Lucie or Katerine) and Laurent composed the string arrangements. The recording starts around1:00 pm. 3 violins and a cello leaded by Laurent. Very soon, the songs sound great. Between each take, everyone meets in the kitchen. The cellist has come with her little family and breast-feeds her baby. It takes 5 hours to record the string parts. We quickly celebrate Christine's birthday and, since it's saturday, head for the bars. Christian, Gauthier and Seb end in a private party. Foggy return to the hotel in the middle of the night. Fortunately it's sunday.
